Brief History
The Architectural Services Department is the works agent for government facilities development. They are responsible for maintaining the overall standard of in-house and outsourced projects both in terms of design and construction through an effective quality assurance and performance management system. They also look after the maintenance and refurbishment of these facilities.
The Architectural Services Department is divided into different branches and divisions. The Subvented Projects Division is responsible for ensuring that government subvented and joint-venture projects conform to government requirements. The Project Management Branch, Architectural Branch, Building Services Branch, Structural Engineering Branch, Quantity Surveying Branch and Property Services Branch are responsible for the development of new facilities and assisting user departments in developing their requirements. The Property Services Branch is also responsible for the upkeep of all government buildings and facilities.
